The Severn Hero Awards 2009
The Hero Awards are designed to celebrate the achievements of our unsung local residents.
Many of these people go un-noticed, many working behind the scenes, but they make a real difference to the lives of others in our community.
This is a chance to recognise the unsung heroes, generous volunteers and friendly characters who go the extra mile and make a difference to the people around them, giving them the personal recognition they deserve.
All too often it seems, the news headlines are dominated by bad news, yet daily across the area, people are overcoming obstacles on the road to success, refusing to take “no” for an answer and making their communities safer, richer and a happier place to live in.
We will on air, ask listeners to nominate friends, family and work colleagues and then after a panel of selected judges have made their decisions on each category, we will make a surprise visit to the winners workplace or home to present them with a certificate, trophy and Bouquet of flowers.
